Opening Wednesday, June 9th at noon, our highly anticipated 16th Annual Sketches Show will once again present many of the most historic names in Canadian art. On display on all three floors of the gallery, this year’s exhibition of over 100 works will make available examples from many of the artists who have become synonymous with Sketches — A.J. Casson, Goodridge Roberts, and Alan Collier — as well as other important artists such as Franz Johnston, Clarence Gagnon, and David Milne. Also included in the exhibition will be features on four artists with their own specific niche in Canadian art history — Peter C. Sheppard, Frederick Loveroff, Tom Roberts and Albert Franck — and a feature on prints and drawings that will include works from the likes of Franklin Carmichael, F.H. Varley and Carl Schaefer. We are proud to present this year’s Sketches exhibition and continue our long tradition of presenting the very best in Canadian art. An online preview is now available. Please note that certain works in this exhibition are subject to presale.
