This exhibition strives to communicate new ideas and shape perceptions about contemporary craft. It is about the opportunity to take risks, to experiment; to investigate and to push an art practice. To venture and to gain! To boldly go!
How Big is Big? What is Big? Is it Big Enough?
The works in this exhibition are about the expansion or extension of ideas.
The ‘acceptable limits of the craft object’ are presented in attention-grabbing ways. The works are bold, gutsy, exuberant, prominent and consequential. The everyday activities and objects in our lives are exalted, celebrated and amplified through ornament, scale or volume. Yes indeed, It’s a Big Deal.
