The second installment of the CURATE THIS! exhibition series has grown from an experimental event involving one gallery, the internet and over 400 members of the international arts community back in June 2008 into a global exhibition with currently over 100 registered artists + 12 pARTicipating venues located in various cities around the world. We expect those numbers to continue to grow between and the registration deadlines for this year’s event. This global exhibition of new art + new design is still in its infancy, open to experimentation and we welcome your input and pARTicipation. We are honored and grateful for this year’s pARTicipation by curators Helen Pheby, PhD, Senior Curator at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, UKand Ellen Lupton, Curator of Contemporary Design at the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in NYC.
Artists, designers, arts organizations, artspace directors, design and studio directors, professionally affiliated and independent curators, gallery directors, universities, museums, festivals, business owners, managers and entrepreneurs may learn more and register to pARTicipate at: www.CurateThis.org
_______________________________________________________________________________________ THANK-YOU! to Kickstarter for helping us to officially launch the BECA ICAD (International Center for Art + Design) development in New Orleans

After announcing that the BECA ICAD (International Center for Art + Design) development would be located in New Orleans, LA, we received some very exciting news from Kickstarter, the innovative social fundraising platform…we had been invited to create our own Kickstarter project!
Kickstarter.com is an all-or-nothing platform. Projects must raise every penny of their project’s goal in order to receive funds. If they don’t, they receive $0. A unique feature of the Kickstarter platform is that it is a ‘give and get system’. At each pledge level, as low as $1, each backer receives something in return if the project reaches its goal. The planned BECA ICAD facility will occupy 10,000 - 50,000 square feet (929 sq. meters - 4,645 sq. meters) depending on the overall funds raised. Our organization has a goal of raising $300,000 in order to secure the location for the facility and begin renovation/construction. The BECA Kickstarter project is located at: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/9651403/beca-icad-international-center-for-art-design
We’ve made our pledge amounts diverse: $1, $5, $10, $35, $50, $55, $100, $125 and $500 - each is associated with a different thank you level. You can help to make this new large scale exhibition facility dedicated to exhibiting works by both emerging artists AND emerging designers a reality by clicking the Kickstarter project link to learn more.
Special thanks to those who have already joined us as backers with a BECA ICAD pledge amount. We’re off to a great start and want to also thank everyone for their help thus far in spreading the word about our Kickstarter project via email, facebook, twitter, you tube, etc. and throughout your own networks. As a result of your help in spreading the word, we have received several in-kind construction materials donation pledges! It doesn’t count toward our Kickstarter totals but every little bit helps and is most welcomed.
New art + new design fuels the best of what’s yet to come on this planet.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING NEW ART + NEW DESIGN + NEW IDEAS!

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING ART + DESIGN PROGRAMMING FOR PROGRESS + POSSIBILITY
BECA is an acronym for Bridge for Emerging Contemporary Art. The BECA Foundation is a non-profit global arts organization dedicated to creating public exhibition and other related opportunities for emerging and under-recognized artists + designers for the benefit of artists, designers and the public. Over the past two years our young organization has grown from an interesting idea to a rare gallery space highlighting works by both emerging artists + designers to a global arts organization instigating arts + cultural exchange and facilitating experimental cross-pollination of new ideas for creative innovation in diverse locations around the world. We are now embarking on the development of BECA ICAD - the world’s first large scale exhibition facility dedicated to the exhibition of new works by both emerging artists AND emerging designers.
