Quick Fix will take you on a wild ride with local fashion designers upstairs, performance art in the Lounge, live bands or DJs in the Underground and free work of art in the Lobby. Thursday nights at Drake are making the weekend jealous.
October 22 – Art Toronto Opening Night Afterparty @ 10pm_FREE
Join us in the Lounge after the Gala to dish on what was good, bad and gorgeous at the fair and be one of the first to pick up your Art Smart Collector button; for this edition, conceptual artist Micah Lexier has created 500 unique works! You have to be here to get yours.
October 29 – William Huffman Regrets to Inform You @ 8pm_FREE
Toronto Arts Council’s Associate Director is giving back to the community this week, serving drinks to artists in the Lounge and regaling the crowd with Art For You – a free work of art you’re not soon to forget!
November 5 – Alphabet City’s Wet Cabaret @ 8pm_FREE
Alphabet City takes over the Lounge with a cabaret that flows through a variety of mediums defying definition. Expect readings, performance works, film screenings and Art For You by Eva Michon – all exploring this year’s theme, WATER.
November 12 – Closing Reception for Reading Between The Lines @ 8pm_FREE
Don’t miss your last chance to see Drake’s fall exhibition Reading Between The Lines, exploring how paper takes shape in contemporary art practices. Stop by to see massive paper sculptures, complex collage works and ‘drawings’ sliced or punctured in the paper. With works by:
Paul Butler, Michael Dumontier, Jeff Funnell, Clint Griffin, Kristiina Lahde, Guy Maddin, Kyle Monchuk, Sojourer Truth, Jenn Stark, Mike Swaney and Robert Waters, and a site-specific free multiple by Micah Lexier.
